Getting Organized, Week 2

So... I'm still not organized. I have a sense of purpose, but so far my schedule, which is relatively simple with its 2-tasks-a-day, has been difficult to stick to. Last Friday I was trying to get some extra stuff done since we were going to be in Dallas all weekend, and so then Friday stuff didn't get done until Monday, which just threw me off. Also, when doing my meal planning I forgot that we were going to be gone over the weekend and I wouldn't need to cook. Never mind, I just bumped those meals into this weekend and saved myself some trouble. Meal planning this week was considerably shorter. Breakfast and lunch stayed the same. The kids don't care, and that way I can remember what I'm supposed to be making that day. Also the grocery list saved a little bit of time at the store.

Still, I had a few days this week where I was really, really tired, and just couldn't drag myself to the point of catching up. Lately Norah has been very adventurous and keeping up with her is becoming more of a challenge. And Bean is bored. I'm searching out more fun things for her to do, but in the meantime she follows me around ALL DAY and TALKS AND TALKS AND TALKS...

I still haven't figured out a method for squeezing the "other jobs" into a schedule, but I am getting some of them done here and there. So... that's kind of the same as before. Maybe in Week 3 I'll figure that out.

My next step in the Getting Organized is going to be finances. Tom's parents gave us a book, Total Money Makeoever, which gives a really interesting plan for getting out of debt. Not that we have a lot of debt, really, just the car payment and student loans. Well, and a mortgage. But it would be nice to get rid of all of that (except the mortgage) in the next couple of years, and we could probably do it if we followed the plan. But more than getting rid of loans, I'm interested in budgeting what we spend. Right now Tom and I just kind of spend whatever we want. Don't get me wrong, it's nice not to have to worry about every penny, but I think we could probably be a bit more prudent with the cashola. So that's next on my list. Yes, I have high hopes for Week 3.
