Since I posted a total complaint blog yesterday when I had a bad day, I feel obliged to do a... well, whatever the opposite of complaint is... today, because it was a good day. First off, Jake didn't wake up until late, and I was able to ignore him kicking the door to get out of his room until like 8:30 and catch a little extra sleep. That's always nice. Then I packed up the kids to go to storytime (at the public library, since I can't handle Miss Rita anymore) and as I was walking out the door the UPS man showed up with my new baby swing. This rocked because it's always cool when a package comes to my house and because the swing itself is awesome. It plugs in, which is genius, and plays tinkly music, and has a mobile for Brynn to look at. And if she hadn't been busy crying all day I bet she would have enjoyed it. (I didn't say it was a perfect day.)
So, storytime was fun, it was all about lions. I got to make a little construction paper lion with Jacob, which was crooked because I have a craft disability but that just makes it look more authentically two-year-old. Then we came back from the library, and I picked up the mail, and found that Blockbuster sent me Empire Records, one of the best movies ever. Sa-weet! When I pulled into the driveway I also noticed that for the first time in weeks, our newspaper hadn't been thrown into the gutter. Personally I don't care about the paper, but it saves me from having to listen to Tom complain about it. This afternoon, both Jacob and Brynn slept for several hours allowing me an opportunity to take a blissfully quiet nap. And of course, after I put the J to bed I was able to watch my way awesome movie (minus frequent interruption from Crybaby.)
Now I am going to have a beer and read one of the crazy cat lady mysteries I have taken to reading lately. I love Rex Manning Day!!!
